Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 財務金融技術學系 === 103 === The more serious crimes have derived from the rapid change of social environment and quick disintegration of the controls of traditional society recently. Our limited police manpower was unable to meet the public’s demand for modern policing. In view of "limited police forces, infinite public resources”, our country has begun to implement a community policing system. This system effectively integrates community energy to assist with security enforcement and establishes trustful relationships between police and citizens to jointly understand the crime risk factors in the community. This helps solve the problems of community security.
The study was designed to investigate the perception of local police station officers on the implementation of the community policing task. Changhua County Police Department was taken for example. And the perception of local police station officers toward their work was examined through two dimensions: community development associations and neighborhood watch teams. This study adopted quantitative research methods and targeted beat police officers to conduct a random, sampling questionnaire survey according to stratified proportion. A total of 330 questionnaires were distributed, with 308 valid returned questionnaires, a 93% effective rate. After implementing descriptive statistical analysis, independent sample t test, One Way ANOVA, and Pearson product moment correlation, the study’s conclusions were as follows:
1.The local police station officers generally support the concept of assistance from community associations and neighborhood watch teams in public security.
2.There was a significant difference of perception to the concept of community associations and neighborhood watch teams’ assistance in public security according to the individual background of the local police station officers.
3.The local police station officers showed a significant positive correlation between the community associations and neighborhood watch teams’ assistance with public security.
