Two hundred and ninety six paraprofessionals in special education schools participated in this study to fill out the questionnaire developed by the researcher. The results indicated that paraprofessionals’ three major responsibilities include providing personal care assistance, assisting in administrative affairs, assisting with classroom management, respectively. They were in needs of professional training, especially in knowledge about special education. Significant statistical differences were found in professional training in terms of paraprofessionals’ working experience and school sizes, and differences were found in paraprofessionals’ responsibilities in terms of school size effects. 林惠芬 學位論文 ; thesis 118 zh-TW
