Previous literature has shown the influence of industrial cluster on the regional innovation system which is beneficial for the development of national economic development. This research aimed to explore the relationship between industrial clusters, social capital in the development of Chuansing Industrial Park due to the fact that there is a significant lack of discussion in terms of role of social capital in the regional innovation system. In addition, we explore the relationship between firm characteristics of Chuansing Industrial Park and industrial cluster and social capital.
The sample was based on 147 corporations in Changhwa Chuansing Industrial Park. We employed a survey and valid questionnaires were 111 firms. The empirical studies found as follows.
1.The firm characteristics of Chuansing Industrial Park exhibited a partly positive purchasing intention through industrial cluster.
2.The firm characteristics of Chuansing Industrial Park exhibited a partly positive purchasing intention through social capital.
3.There has a significant correlation between industrial cluster and social capital.
To sum up, this shudy has shown the significant relationship among firms’ characteristics, industrial cluster and social capital; the results can be implied in the development and upgrade of indusrial parks.
