We investigated the propagation path of an optical wedge guides, and the established a three-dimensional light pipe model with vector-form analysis. We derived the correspondence between the angle of incident light and the position of exit light on the wedge guides surface. By using a collimated laser beam coupling into the wedge transformer, we verified the validity of proposed mathematical model. Finally, we use this wedge transformer to set up an experimental platform to measure the luminous intensity distribution curve of LED successfully.
