There will be a lot of plants around the environment. Therefore, the plants will play an indispensable role in a reasonable 3D scene. However, we spend most of the time repeatedly painting the plant models. Thus, in the field of computer graphics, how to effectively simulate the plant growth has always been a very important issue. The most important thing of all is how to effectively generate realistic plants. At present, the most commonly method used for generating plants is Lindenmayer System (L-System). Lindenmayer System which is based on iterative grammar used to simulate the growing status of plants. But in the previous the only way to generate L-System grammar is mostly relied on the image information. If the picture with slightly missing information may cause to that the generated grammar is different with the fact one. Moreover, during the process of generating grammar we need in accordance with the user's own experience to continuous simulate plants and amend its grammar. And we can write an approximate L-System grammar of the plant. However, there is still plenty of room for improvement in efficiency in such way. Although L-System can get good results to simulate the plant, writing L-System grammar for the normal user is more difficult to get started. And its grammar is not easy to write, so that lots of people can’t do it will. So, we want to develop a system to assist user to writing L-System grammar.
