碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 政治經濟研究所碩士在職專班 === 103 === Since the early 1980s, there have been a large number of Thailand and Philippines brides in the rural areas of Taiwan. Under the push force of marriage gradient and the pull force of flourishing intermediaries, the international marriages between Taiwan and Southeast Asia develop rapidly. Most of the marriages with Southeast Asia are on the foundation of economic factors while both sides can get what they want. For Taiwan males, they can use less money to marry Southeast Asia females than Taiwan females. For Southeast Asia females, they can come to Taiwan to earn more money to improve their parents’ economic conditions and send money to their mothers’ homes through marriage.
