| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 高階管理碩士在職專班(EMBA) === 103 === The reason why Internet of Things (IoT) era comes is due to three major factors: the rapid development of the chip on computing speed in Moore's Law; the development of various communication technologies to make the link among people; as well as the development of intelligent products. Although “Internet of Things” is not a new word, it suddenly became a hot topic again since TSMC (Taiwan Semi- conductor Manufacturing Company) chairman Morris Chang brought up the topic of Next Big Thing ? in the 2014 Annual lecture of Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA) pointing out the business opportunities of Internet of Thing.
In this study, content analysis and observation method were employed to analyze the collected and important events related to the industries. It also combined theoretical approach of industrial analysis to explore the trend of Internet of Things in technological development and market application.
In this study, major findings were as follows:
First, Internet of Things (IoT) is taking over the next application and the global technology industry is to greet the relevant business opportunities. In the Internet of Things’ industry ecosystem, the leading of software providers and hardware manufacturers led upstream and downstream suppliers and set leagues to contest the platform. The relationship in supply chains are getting closer, everyone needs to strengthen the competitiveness of basic ＆ critical core capability and the cooperation with leagues, and also the integration of applications and services.
Secondly, the business opportunity of Internet of Thing is huge. Under the future economic data (cloud data) era, whoever is able to analyze and use the massive amount of information and grasp the real needs of users then can provide innovative service.
