The objectives of this study were: (1) to clarify the relationship among family relationship, depression and illegal means for junior high school students’ delinquency, (2) to understand the impact of family relationship on depression and illegal means, (3) to examine the mediating effect of depression on the relations between family relationship and junior high school students’ delinquency, (4) to examine the mediating effect of illegal means on the relations between family relationship and junior high school students’ delinquency. The sample consisted of 593 seventh- to- ninth grade students from 8 junior high schools at Kaohsiung City in Taiwan. In this study, statistical analysis included descriptive statistics, product-moment correlation analysis and structure equation models. A number of important results were presented as follows: (1) There was reasonable and acceptable goodness of fitness in the preliminary fit criteria for overall model fit and fit of internal structure. (2) Family relationship had direct impacts on depression and illegal means. (3) Family relationship, depression, and illegal means had direct impacts on junior high school students’ delinquency. (4) Family relationship could also indirectly affect depression, illegal means, and junior high school students’ delinquency. (5) Depression and illegal means had the mediating effect on the relations between family relationship and delinquency. Based on these results, this study also proposed some suggestions for parents, school counseling and future researches. Yuk-Ying Tung 董旭英 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 92 zh-TW
