The transient gas phase was modeled with laminar computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and the particle phase was modeled with discrete phase model (DPM). In this paper, the flow structure and particle deposition pattern for normal and asthmatic airway bifurcation are compared and discussed. The numerical results reveal that the inertial force and the position of secondary flow are the main reason cause particles deposition.
