The participants were caregivers aged over 45 years-old. In addition, professionals for mental retardation were also recruited. Quantitative questionnaire was used to collect demographic information, and qualitative interview was used to collect data. The findings suggest: (1) caregivers have to arrange the future planning early, and consider not only children but also themselves. (2) social policy should address the job and care for children after high school, as well as caregivers’ needs for flexible work. Tradition media can be used to spread information.
