Description
Summary:博士 === 國立成功大學 === 水利及海洋工程學系 === 103 === In Taiwan, landslide dams are common formed by landslide or debris flow and usually fail soon after the lake formation and cause downstream flooding. The basic data of initial landslide dam is very difficult to obtain due to its faraway and mountain area. Because of time constraints and lack of disaster information, how to make a reasonable assessment on the potential landslide dam hazard trend comes to be very important. For the disaster prevent prospect, this research is mainly focus on the interpretation of potential area for landslide dams. After determine the potential area for landslide dams, it will not only reinforce the ability of disaster prevention, but also well evaluate and manage carefully on the landslide dams. The extreme earthquake and heavy rainfall events may result in landslide dams in Taiwan area. Two necessary formation conditions of landslide dam are as follows: (1) the sediment transported by landslide or debris flow must reach across to the river; (2) the volume of sediment caused by landslide or debris flow must be larger than the minimum sediment volume of river-blocking. In this study, we are aimed at two conditions above-mentioned and quantify the assessment on the formation conditions of landslide dam through the basic theory including the run-out distance of landslide and minimum sediment volume of river-blocking, and also the experiment data analysis. Finally, this study establish an assessment method for interpretation of potential landslide dam area. With field data and verification, the results not only show the possibility of landslide dam be formed by landslide or debris flow, but could offer the strategies on disaster prevention and cure for landslide dam in the future.
