With the data collection and analyses, the advantages and restrictions of three construction methods were found out. Furthermore, after integrating and researching, 36 influential factors were chosen on harbor caisson. With the reference to the methods of construction and transport caisson above, and integration with the characteristics of each construction method, firstly, the cause-and-effect diagrams were used to synthesize factors, which influence the construction method choices on harbor caisson. Then, the survey questionnaires were designed, answered by 28 specialists and analyzed. An Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to summarize the factors of the construction method choices on harbor caisson. The results were as follows: (1) Of the six dimension criteria, the regulation of contract is the most important, the construction and environmental conditions effect is the second. (2) Of those 36 influential factors of the construction method choices on harbor caisson, the surveyed specialists indicate that the greatest influences on construction method choices are the “tidal changes, sheltered waters and nautical meteorology”, and other sequences are as the following: “caisson quantity, dimension change and extent of normalization”, ”the engineering project quantity of the same construction field, including the boundary between every project”, “duration, milestone, the regulations of delay penalty”, “the strength of geological structures”, “changes of policy or situation”, “the length of waterfront line in construction site”.
