Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 土木工程學系碩士在職專班 === 103 === The study use pavement quality on the spit, laboratory mechanical analysis, and traffic volume analysis to investigate the functionality of Basic Oxygen Furnace slag (BOF) pavement, including permeable capacity, noise, safety (British pendulum number), and durability (flatness, rutting, Clegg impact value, and pavement density). Unit weight, porosity, resilient modulus, indirect tension, and asphalt viscosity were used for laboratory mechanical analysis. Traffic volume was evaluated by equivalent single axle load (ESAL ).After about three years of observation, BOF test spot and natural aggregates road yield similar performance. Our results suggest the potential of BOF to be used as pavement of freeways or urban roads. Nonetheless, it is only early investigation, and further research and long-term observation are needed for promising results.
