One commonly used access control for cloud services is the attribute encryption based on hierarchical structure. To the best of our knowledge, the existing attribute-based encryption schemes concentrated on encrypting the whole data file, not partitions of data file. In this thesis, we proposed an efficient hierarchical attribute-based encryption and attribute revocation method for encrypting partitions of data files in cloud storage services. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the Hierarchical Attribute-Based Encryption (HBAE) method in terms of the execution time for encryption, decryption, and attribute revocation. In case of revoking attribute rules, the proposed method only updates the parts of file related to the revoked attribute rules.
