The purpose of this study is trying to identify the key successful factors (KSF) among the players’ performance index in Super Basketball League (SBL), and the possible impact of the synergies from the strategic fit perspective. This study collects the eleventh regular season data of Taiwan’s SBL(Super Basketball League), with seven teams and 210 games in total, including the attack-and-defense performances of the five starters. The empirical results show that guards turnovers, small forward’s three-point shooting rate, and power forward’s steals significantly affects the game consequences. However, from the perspective of comprehensive index the impact of the center position is greater than that of the other four positions. Besides, the star player of the point guard position can really make the team win more points and win the game in SBL. Finally, the profile deviation model shows that SBL exists the ideal team configuration. If the configuration of a team is getting closer to this ideal configuration, its performance is getting better. And if the configuration of a team is getting further to this ideal configuration, its performance is getting worse. These empirical results can provide the team manager a more practical reference in building his team. Besides, the way using profile deviation method to explore the possible synergies among the players can be applied to other sports or other relevant issues.
