Creating is a hard work. Collection and preservation of youth is more difficult. There are many prix in Taiwan , collection of award-winning works are rare. National Youth students painting and calligraphy competition organized by National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Nearly 40 years , the collection of the former 578 works of calligraphy , be allowed to stand in National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Collection library, waiting for caring people to explore and research. I am a civil servant of Taichung City Seaport Art Centert , I hope to research it. It is my duty and honor.
This study based on National Dr. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall collection database. The research methods are historical research, statistical research, imaging studies and so on. In this study, in addition to the application of Chinese traditional materials and Western aesthetics, but also will leverage more scientific research methods and charts. So the study can be more scientific.
Over time, youth Calligraphers became Taiwan famous calligrapher ,but many works of youth calligrapher are lost. National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall save it. National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall systematic collection let it be more useful information.
This competition has been stopped. By writing this paper, we hope to redefine the status of the competition in the history of Taiwanese calligraphy.
