In this system, the three-arm full-bridge circuitry with boosting inductor in series at input side and low-pass filter in parallel at output side are proposed to regulate single-phase AC to electrical power with constant-voltage. It can not only maintain voltage stability at output side, but also decrease the size and cost of the system. The control strategy operated under phase-compensated amplitude-locked loop algorithm can provide a single-phase source with fast response, stable and low harmonic distortion power to loads. In this thesis, the mathematical model of single-phase three-arm automatic voltage regulators are built and simulated by Matlab/Simulink. Then, a high-performance and low-cost micro-controller (MCU, Renesas RL78G14) is used to control the system for reducing the circuit complexity. A prototype of 1kW voltage regulation system is developed. The system can feed proper power, while the rated effective output voltage is 110V and the frequency is 60 Hz.
