Summary: | 碩士 === 明新科技大學 === 化學工程與材料科技系碩士班 === 103 === Selective catalysis reduction (SCR) catalysts, in which V2O5, MoO3 are used as active materials and TiO2 is used as a carrier, is widely used in removing NOx from exhausted gases. After using a period of time, the activity of the catalyst is gradually reduced. It must be replaced. At present the alkali-assisted method is used to treat the spent catalyst to extract V2O5, MoO3 from the spent catalyst and TiO2 carrier left is discarded.
In this study, the discarded TiO2 in the spent catalysts recovered by an alkali- or acid-assisted treatment will be investigated. The alkali-assisted treatment involves alkaline roasting with NaOH, and subsequent acid washing, hydrolysis and calcination stages followed. In the acid-assisted treatment, the spent catalyst is acidification to form TiOSO4 and then following with filtration, drying, washing and calcination to obtain TiO2 photo-catalyst powder.
To examine the TiO2 recovered by alkali- and acid- treatment methods, the characterization was investigated by using EDS, ICP, XRD, SEM and TEM. The TiO2 particles, obtained by acid-assisted treatment resulting in a higher recovery, can be successfully applied to the dye wastewater treatment under UVA irradiation.
