碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 資訊工程學系碩士班 === 103 === During the practical training of software testing at an IT (Information Technology) company, it’s discovered that the project team members have different opinions on the test script quality of Web application’s GUI (Graphical User Interface) testing. To improve the quality of the testing scripts to be written or modified, we need to know the factors of good quality in scripts. In this thesis, we use thirty existing scripts as experimental cases. From the scripts that are considered as having good quality, we find out some characteristics that are possessed by good-quality scripts. These characteristics include independence, readability and reusability, and are given different weights according to different situations after analyzing the test scripts based on the experience from practical training. Finally, we define the quality of a test script using these weights. Therefore, we can find out the factors of good quality in test scripts and provide some useful guidelines for helping testing people to improve the quality of test scripts.
