碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 經濟學系碩士班 === 103 === The data of Taiwanese companies under the service industry in Taiwan from the 2010 industrial innovation database of the National Science Council, Executive Yuan was adopted in this paper. In view of process innovation and product innovation of companies, decision-making factors of three types of innovation behaviors, including process and product innovation, were adopted for the assessment and analysis of company growth. After a review through the propensity score matching method, it was found that the main factors affecting the innovation of companies under the service industry include: overseas market operations, previous experiences of innovation failure, government subsidy policies, R&D and innovation density, labor technology, etc., where different innovation categories have given rise to differed decision factor combinations. As for the effect of innovation on company growth, it was found that process innovation have led to companies’ reduced hiring of labor in order to cut down labor costs. Additionally, due to the development characteristics of Taiwan’s service industry at present, sales growth and labor productivity have shown a negative correlation.
