It is impossible to avoid its influence. Under the circumstances, China is no exception. The broadest definition of “globalization” refers to the in and out-flow of the international merchandise, trade and technology. Among the countries in the world, China is the typical one that is the most influenced by the globalization trend. That is to say, China is like the country of the world and the whole world is trying to do business with China. Since China is still a dictatorship, people in China are full of both anticipated and worrying feeling when facing the trend of globalization. To China, on one hand, globalization is a stepping-stone to a powerful country. On the other hand, globalization is the biggest challenge to stabilize its country for the time being. The twenty one million people living in Taiwan must understand the mailand China. Under no circumstances should people in Taiwan ignore China. in order to find out China, it is appropriate to understand Chinese mass media first of all . The media are called “the Fourth Power” in the West. In China, the development of media industry is the miniature of its political and economic development. Through the development of history, the various facets of journalism of China will be clearly revealed. China''s television industry does not operate in accordance with a purely commercial or market-oriented mechanism. Nowadays mass media in China operate in a difficulty situation due to their special characters. The said media, serving as propaganda mouthpieces, are enterprises in nature but must meet the requirements of operational and economic efficiency. TV, with the advantage of the rapidity of the communication and video characters, is not comparable by other media. Nowadays the operation models of collaborating, digitalizing, and industrialization become an inevitable trend for television industry. Since China has the world''s largest television channels and programs, the development of TV industry which is highly influenced by China’s special political and economic situations is worth researching. In the present writer’s opinion, the development of news media should be the conscience of a society and a mirror the truth. If the Chinese government allows private and fair-standing newspapers existing, it means the whole Chinese people totaling 1.3 billion is moving toward the trend of freedom and democracy. Now the two crucial ways to the survival of Chinese news media are “Accommodation and Innovation”. It is essential to accommodate Chinese news media to the changed situations resulted from the entrance of WTO.
