Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 教育研究所碩士在職專班 === 103 === The purposes of this study were to develop and validate an instrument used to measure elementary school teachers’ quality.
This study formulated the teacher quality scale based on literature and expert review.
Two sets of samples (183 and 430 elementary school teachers in Taoyuan) served to explore and confirm the constructs of the teacher quality model proposed by this study.
The model has been empirically validated via exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factory analysis. The data were also analyzed by using independent samples t-test and one-way ANOVA for detailed analysis.
The results of the present study-as follows.
1.The scale was validated in nine dimensions: professional knowledge, ethic and attitude, self- reflect, professional development, information integration of teaching, internet literacy, leisure ability, physical and mental health and aesthetic literacy.
2.The Elementary School Teacher Quality Scale had good reliability and validity.
3.Research data revealed that teacher’ levels of quality were high.
4.There were no significant differences in the 9 dimensions as a result of educational degree and educational background.
5.Gender made significant difference in physical and mental health and aesthetic literacy. Diverse years of service made significant difference in information integration of teaching, physical and mental health and aesthetic literacy. Various job position made significant difference in ethic and attitude. Various school size made significant difference in ethic and attitude and aesthetic literacy.
The study provided suggestions for the educational authorities, elementary school teachers, and follow-up research.
