Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 應用中國文學系碩士在職專班 === 103 === Jung Jauh-Jehng is among the pioneering group of the post world war II Taiwanese writers who have successfully made a breakthrough over the language barriers between Chinese and Japanese languages; and having dedicated to writing for decades he has tremendously created his literature works over ten millions words in total. His unique style is best demonstrated with his characteristic expressions and rendering of the colonial residents'' life experiences. This research aims to explore "Jung Jauh-Jheng''s Biographical Novel" consisting of three novels namely "Wang-Chun-Feng" literally "Whispering Hope", "Dan-Hsin Keng-Keng Shu Szu-Jen" literally "My faithful love for you exclusively" - Biography of JIANG, Shao-Tzu, and "Yuan-Hsiang-Jen" literally "My Native Land" - the Story of JUNG Li-Ho as a Taiwanese Writer. In each of the novels the character is TENG, Yu-Hsien, JIANG, Shao-Tzu, and JUNG, Li-Ho, respectively, and all of them are the real characters with blood and flesh leading their living in Taiwan under Japanese colonial ruling.
Behind the commencement of writing each of the said three biographical novels is always a strong urge of emotions; while the characters were ordinary people far from being influential officers of ruling power, their accounts are nothing short of time-honored value. Our author insisted on the core belief of promoting "truth, goodness and beauty" while writing every single word down depicting the experiences that passes down a wealth of historical literatures, and at the same time he also demonstrated his personal core values and his strong favorite to colors by developing his plots tactfully.
