Description
Summary:碩士 === 高苑科技大學 === 化工與生化工程研究所 === 103 === The mechanical, thermal, and morphological properties of polylactide (PLA) and rice husk (RH) composites were evaluated. Composites containing acrylic acid-grafted PLA (PLA-g-AA/RH) exhibited noticeably improved mechanical properties due to better compatibility between the two components. The dispersion of RH in the PLA-g-AA matrix was significantly more homogeneous due to the creation of branched and cross-linked macromolecules via reactions between carboxyl groups in PLA-g-AA and hydroxyl groups in RH. The water resistance of the PLA-g-AA/RH composite was greater than that of PLA/RH. In a soil environment, the PLA/RH composite has a higher value of biodegradation (about 3-10 wt%) than the PLA-g-AA/RH one. Physically, the tensile strength at break of PLA-g-AA/RH were nearly constant up to 20 wt% RH and exhibited properties conducive to easy processing.
