Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 製造與管理外國學生碩士專班 === 103 === Taiwan is a strong country which has a direct relationship of education to the quality of human resources to provide high-quality staff supply to the domestic labor market, and bring positive benefits of industrial innovation. However, starting from the years 2010s, Taiwan higher education has been in emergency of dealing with the difficulty of demographic in the context of educational increased desires in recent years. This study adapted data from Taiwanese Ministry of Education which include the number of students in Taiwanese universities are raising from1,326,029 to 1,346,221 from 2007 to 2014, respectively; together with a student’s spending is approximately at 200,000NTD/year. Grey system theory is applied in this study with the three models GM(1,1), DGM(1,1) and Verhuslt which are then chosen the most appropriate one to demonstrate the trending. GM(1,1) show the advance when dealing with fluctuating numbers even the other two did well with low errors; particularly the forecasting results of money spending increasing about 3.6% each year to the future, and the trends of students are downwards in the highest-percentage majors i.e. Social Sciences, Business & Law and Engineering. In constrast, the impressive upward trends are in Humanities & Arts and Services (from 10% to 15% up). In addition, the study also believes that the development of adult size is becoming stable, the affordability of residents to higher education, economic development and other adults. The results from this study could be a very good reference to education managers dealing with the issue of quantity.
