Also, it is a crucial key to create the capability of success for major logistics industry around the world. Freight transportation contributes to the development of foreign trade, and brings high profit to each logistics company. In the growth of global economy, however, freight transportation seems to be affected by a large number of exterior conditions such as recession, inflation. Thus, they should find new ways to improve operation performance, which can enable them to make best profits while keeping a low-cost of freight transportation. This research, based on collected data from financial reports of logistic companies in European nations between 2011 and 2013, uses DEA method to calculate and GM (1, 1) to forecast the input and output values in the future. After analyzing, there are significant rises in the numbers of Catch-up, Frontier and Malmquist, which can illustrate that the profits of the companies increase. As a consequence, the problem of how to progress operation performance in accordance with the impacts of exterior conditions seems to be addressed. In short, this research can help logistics companies plan strategies in the future and enhance the competitiveness to the rivals in global economic volatility.
