Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 模具工程系碩士班 === 103 === The objective of this study is to develop a system integrating meal ordering and restaurant management to solve current problems encountered in restaurants, such as the absent food after ordering meals, unbalanced workload for stewards, and improper management of cooking ingredients. The human–machine interface of this system displays options in the form of web pages, which are written using ASP.NET and AJAX, stores data on a structured query language server, and transmits data through local networks. Unlike conventional meal ordering, the fully automated meal ordering system facilitates customers with self-ordering service that can be accomplished on a tablet computer. The system is simple to operate, provides detailed information, and enables interaction between service personnel. The inventory management concept is introduced to the ingredient management in a kitchen and provides a list of meal orders to prevent omission. In addition, the worktable enables a balanced workload for stewards, and the list of service needs helps stewards rapidly respond to customer needs. This study is expected to benefit food services.
