Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 土木工程與防災科技研究所 === 103 === The concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) indoor is close to that at atmosphere around 0.03~0.04%. The indoor source of CO2 is from staff breathing, smoking, and other combustion behaviors. When CO2 concentration increased in the room, other pollutants concentration is relatively increased. Therefore, carbon dioxide concentration becomes the most important assessment index of air quality.
According to the Indoor Air Quality Monitoring Act, indoor CO2 concentration of 8 hours average should be less than 1000ppm. Following the act requirement, this research develops a sensor modulus for CO2 concentration monitoring, which contain an Android smart phone for data display and a sensor to measure CO2 concentration. The sensor developed by this research uses MG811 sensor element of CO2 concentration and associated with an Arduino device. The sensor modulus can achieve following functions: easy monitoring, cheap price, and easy setup to use.
Smart phones have become daily use tools for the public, and Android system is the popular for smart phone system. In this research, App Inventor 2 language was used to program the data acquisition and export interface between smart phone and sensor hardware. The MG811 sensor element was installed within the Arduino device to connect to the software in data acquisition to communicate with smart phone for monitoring data transformation. The developed sensor modulus is an easy setup and use device. It can be use in home environment, workplace, specific workplace, construction basement, and etc. Utilize the App in smart phone, people can watch the CO2 concentration with remote monitoring, and even get alert to prevent accident events.
