For example, the weather condition may affect the schedule of a person, or the possible water contamination may affect the ecosystem of the environment. If there is a monitoring device to monitor the changes of the environment and to provide data, then responsible organizations or individuals would be able to detect the changes of the environmental factors and take corresponding actions. With the embedded hardware, environmental monitoring modules, and telecommunication modules such as 3G, 4G, or WiFi, low-cost and geographic-restriction-free environmental monitoring device can be made, and can change into another monitoring equipment for another purpose if the environmental monitoring module is changed. For example, in weather application, this device can be placed at the locations where people are most concerned to provide up-to-date weather condition. And this device can be applied to monitoring contamination prevention by changing the module into wastewater environmental monitoring module. This monitoring device also can be applied to environmental research and prevention of natural disasters or man-made disasters, for example, mudslide, noise pollution, toxic air detection, etc. Data collected from the monitoring can be provided to responsible organizations for analysis, application, and further research.
