The human-macaque interaction data(N=1,931) are actually observed and collected from the Songpoling Hiking Trail in Ershui Township in Changhua County as to establish the appropriate distance of observation and suitable interaction mode between tourist and macaque. The collected data is discussed via concerned statistical analysis and virtual observation. The conclusive result and comment is as the following. First of all, the lower the moving action of tourists with reducing of the feeding frequencies of tourists is the decreasing of the conflicts between them. In the second point, the tourists’ action modes like “watch” or “photo” and the macaques’ response “watch” is the primary interaction. Finally, the longer the tourists stay, the more likely the attention causes the attraction and reaction of macaques. Furthermore, this study suggests that it is more appropriate for tourists only watching and photographing instead of feeding with less moving action and no teasing. Tourists should take good care of the backpacks, food and belongings to avoid snatching from macaques. Furthermore strengthening environmental education and exhibiting the ecological pictures of macaques can help tourists to gain more information and knowledge about macaques.
