Description
Summary:碩士 === 開南大學 === 商學院碩士在職專班 === 103 === Abstract The study uses qualitative research and aims to discuss the work stress that interviewees, kindergarten teachers in Taoyuan, are conscious of while doing their jobs, and to explore the adaptive actions that kindergarten teachers take, while facing stress. According to literature review and interview analysis, firstly, the work stress sensed by the interviewees results from five major factors as follows: 1. Interpersonal relationships: work pressure from students’ parents, colleagues, and school. 2. Classroom teaching: work pressure includes teaching skills, class planning, and classroom management. 3. Workloads: teachers also have to carry out administrative work as well as their classroom chores. 4. Child factor: this involves the difference between a normal student and a special student’s behavior and attitude. 5. Working time: it is hard to maintain a balance between family and work. Secondly, on the basis of the interview results and empirical analysis, kindergarten teachers can adopt four adaptive ways to cope with work stress: 1. Rational thinking: keeping a clear cool head by reading or other ways 2. Asking for assistance: asking for assistance from colleagues, students’ parents, family and friends. 3. Emotional adjustment: releasing stress by watching television or chatting with family and friends. 4. Setting aside and escape: temporarily putting the stress away and not trying to deal with it. Based on the research results, some suggestions are provided: 1. Accept unchangeable facts and foster positive thinking habits, 2. Plan a time schedule and prioritize everything properly, 3. Actively seek support from both inside and outside the school system, and keep a habit of self-reflection. Keywords: kindergarten teachers, work stress, adaptive action
