Xi is often heralded as a leader who is most knowledgeable about and friendly towards Taiwan. He has proposed a series of strategic concepts for his "Chinese Dream", which are seen as indispensable components of Xi’s doctrines. The "Chinese Dream" will guide and shape Xi’s foreign policies, national defense and global strategies. This thesis will begin with defining Xi’s "Chinese Dream". Through analyzing Xi’s ideas for foreign policies such as the "New Type of Great Powers Relations" and "One Belt, One Road", it attempts to dissect Xi’s vision of a global future under the "Chinese Dream". Regarding China’s Taiwan policy, Xi’s attitude towards Taiwan is of great interest to the international community. How will Xi’s Taiwan policy change or transform itself under his "Chinese Dream"? Many factors are influencing the cross-strait relations. These factors include: normalization of cross-strait relations, signing of economic treaties between Mainland China and Taiwan, the Sunflower Student Movement, the 2014 9-in-1 elections, Beijing’s disruption of the status quo and Taiwan’s foreign relations. How will Xi’s "Chinese Dream" eventually shape the Chinese Communist Party’s international standing and strategy? And with the global planning and ambitions of the "Chinese Dream", how will cross-strait relations change and develop? Facing Xi’s "Chinese Dream", how should Taiwan interpret it and react? This thesis will analyze the issues in detail in the hope of contributing to domestic efforts of researching the "Chinese Dream". Chou, Yang-Sun 周陽山 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 115 zh-TW
