However, the relationship between the mechanism of mindfulness, emotional regulation strategy and individual adaption of drug abuser is still unclear. Besides, there are few tools to measure the mechanism of mindfulness in Taiwan. Therefore, this study combines two parts. The first part is to exam the reliability and validity of “The Taiwan Version of Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire”translated from “Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire” by Ruth Baer. The second part explores the relationship between the mechanism of mindfulness, emotional regulation strategy and individual adaption. This study sample of male drug abusers is from Drug Abuser Treatment Center in Southern Taiwan. Sample size is 243. 125 of them have been practicing mindfulness for three months, while 118 of the total sample size have no practice experience. The first survey was completed by subjects who were informed and agreed to participate in this study. The second survey was conducted after three months practice of mindfulness. The result of the first part indicates that that “The Taiwan Version of Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire” has good internal consistency, moderate Test-retest reliability, and good construct, convergent, discriminant, criterion-related validity. In the second part, the result suggests that “Develop new opinion” and “Increase positive emotion” play the mediation role between Mindfulness Core and individual adaption. That is, “Mindfulness core” could help individual to employ strategy of “Develop new opinion” and “Increase positive emotion” which could improve individual adaption. This study finds that when an individual observes internal experience and does not respond to them immediately, it may interrupt the link of automatic thinking or habitual behavior. That would increase cognitive flexibility to attend more information, which will eventually contribute to individual adaption by employing emotion regulation strategy. This finding may provide a appropriate scales for study the mechanism of mindfulness in Taiwan, and clinical intervention in the future. Bi-Ling Shieh 謝碧玲 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 134 zh-TW
