New licensed tour guide does not often enter the workforce as a guide immediately without having any experience, because they lack for experience. Two reasons result in this situation. Firstly, travel agencies prefer to hire the experienced tour guides. Secondly, novices have no chance to learn from the experienced tour guides. Therefore, beginners are hard to neither get a tour guide job nor accumulate the valuable experience during leading tour group. Consequently, it makes many passionate and potential tour guides stop pursuing the dream of being a professional tour guide. Therefore, how to assist the new licensed tour guides to accumulate the experience and enter the tourism industry is a crucial issue. This is a case study research. We interview the agencies which offer new recruits Tour Guide Practice training, and analyze how they program a serious of courses to enhance the skills of leading a tour. The interview objectives also include senior tour guides, trainers of the tour guide courses and the new licensed tour guides. The topic is focus on discussing the principle of designing the practice training courses and development of the teaching plans. Findings of this study will be sharing with the agencies who mainly providing traveling service to Chinese tourists. Research results could also be the reference while designing or programming the Tour Guide Practice Training Courses. We truly expect this study can contribute its effort on upgrading the quality of Chinese-language Tour Guide service in Taiwan, and hope that the China tourists can more understand the beauty of Taiwanese Culture.
