In order to increase the competitive advantage among companies, R&D expenditure and innovative investment are often considered as the main characteristic of biotechnology and medicine industry. Due to high capital expenditures and emphasis on R&D differ among companies, how to effectively control R&D expenditures and maximize performance has become an important issue for biotechnology and medicine industry today. Financial data of this research is collected from Taiwan Economic Journal (TEJ) database for companies listed on Taiwan Stock Exchange and Gre Tai Securities Market dated from 2007 through 2013. The ERP sample is collected from “Survey on Taiwan's top 1,000 enterprises accredited by Common Wealth Magazine using ERP system” carried out by Shih Hsin University ERP laboratory. The empirical result shows that there is a positive correlation between R&D efficiency and firm performance. ERP adoption positively impact firm performance.
