The V. ainifera has the antioxidant activity. The purpose of the this research is inquiring into V. ainifera  composition and measures with high-performance liquid chromatography. Total phenolic contents、total flavonoid content、DPPH free radical scavenging ability、reducing power、clear superoxide anion capacity、ABTS・+ free radical capacity and tyrosinase inhibited activity. There are sevsn compositions in V. ainifera including resveratrol、kaempferol、 epicatechin、 quercetine、chlorgenic acid、rutin、gallic acid. There results of antioxidant capacity of phenolic content is 2.8 mg of GAE/g , DPPH radical scavenging is 74.30 % ; total flavonoid content is 682.71 μg of quercetin/mg 、IC50 of superoxide anion scavenging is 0.14 mg/mL. IC50 of tyrosinase inhibited activity : 161.75 μg/mL. Therefore V. ainifera has both antioxidant and whitening effect.
