Summary: | 碩士 === 弘光科技大學 === 健康事業管理研究所 === 103 === Background:Sleep is an important basis for maintaining health status, and the maintaining a good nights sleep is a modern life is a very important topic. Poor sleep quality has become a disease of modern plague. Sleep disorders not only directly reduces the overall quality of life but also indirectly through association with chronic diseases, relationships, emotional instability. Consistent significant variation between prevalence of chronic sleep deprivation and overweight and obese individuals has been increasing during the recent decades. In addition to the reasons for eating and exercise, display obesity and sleep-related factors in the relationship is worth it to explore further.
Purpose:Our study was designed to evaluate the factors that affect of sleep quality in Taiwan, content of the factor included body mass index, Chronic Diseases, night eating behavior et al.
Methods:This study applied a cross-sectional design, and conducted using structured questionnaires, content of the questionnaire included Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI), Night Eating Questionnaire(NEQ), Exercise Habits, and demographics. Data were collected from August 2014 to December 2014. Access method used by Computer Assisted Telephone Interview System(CATI). The subject is the people lived in Taiwan and the age ranged from 18 to 69, there are 17,269,426 sample(consisted of 8,608,299 male and 8,661,127 female)(data got from interior ministry of ROC, 2014) as the studying population. The successfully sample of 1,067 participated in our protocol, and the successful sampling rate is 6.17‰‰. All data were processed by Chinese version of SPSS statistical software for windows 21.0 system to descriptive and inferential statistical analysis.
Results:The results show average total sleep quality score 4.89 points (SD = 2.614), of which 29.2% of conscious poor sleep quality. Further analysis revealed the chronic diseases could mediate the effects of the body mass index and sleep quality, for the sleep quality has a negative impact. The night eating behavior have significantly moderating effects on the association between body mass index and chronic diseases, and significantly moderating effects on the association between chronic diseases and sleep quality, and night eating behavior have no significantly moderating effects on the association between body mass index and sleep quality.
Conclusions:From our study, one-third of people consciously poor sleep quality. In the sleep quality of forecasting results indicate body mass index of sleep quality of sleep latency, sleep disturbance and sleep quality scores have significant predictive power. And the body mass index of normal and abnormal have significant differences to the sleep quality. Chronic disease and night eating behavior is one of the quality factor affecting people sleep quality. Body mass index directly correlate to sleep quality, and even it probably effect the health for people to get chronic diseases.
