In this thesis, we make an effort to find a good filter to reduce the noise. First some noise types and basic noise reduction methods. Usually the mean filter is a good reduction noise function, but it may blur the image. The classical bilateral filter is not a good Method to remove the salt-and-pepper noise. We modified the photometric functions and geometric functions with the p-norm of the bilateral filter. We demonstrate our proposed methods to compare with the classical Gaussian bilateral filter.
