Heaven-Human Relationship is also the earliest conception of environmental ethics in China, which implies a philosophy of nature and environment Since the rise of the West reflecting contemporary environmental issues, various schools of debates have boosted up, in which the contrast between environmental holism and Heaven-Human relationship theory of Book of changes is the focus of this thesis. This study has three parts, first of all is to discuss meaning and characteristics of Heaven-Human relationship in Book of changes, to understand the significance of Heaven in the conversion from "Heaven of nature", "Heaven of personality” to "Heaven of high-level rationale" , and how to understand the value and significance from Hexagram; the more important one is that change of the world is an endless process of the universe, which also shows a view of universe of “harmony within Heaven-Human”. Secondly, to discuss Hexagram in Book of changes according to the literature review and intended to understand the relationship between Heaven and Human from environmental thoughts. Finally, to present the contemporary views of interpretation behind significant meaning generated from the Heaven-Human thoughts reflected in Book of changes on the ecological environment philosophy, further comparing the common points to the western environmental holism from Holmes Rolston Ⅲ, with a hope to serve it as a new direction in sustainable development and overall harmony between human and nature.
