Description
Summary:碩士 === 華梵大學 === 東方人文思想研究所 === 103 === Fengshui is also named as Qingwu, Geomancy, the School of Form (Xingfa), or the Divination for a place (Xiangdi), and so on. The historical origin of Fengshui thought can be traced back to the ruins of Yangshao culture located in Banpo Village, which is sited in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, part of loess plateau. In this period, the ancients had involved the idea of stabilizing the air (Chi) and taking in the water (shui) with their residence. Besides, the thought of Sixiang (four emblematic symbols) plays a crucial role in Chinese Fengshui thought. Based on the archaeological discovery and unearthed relics, it is proved that the thought of Sixiang has existed since Ancient China and also ensured the fact that Fengshui has existed for a long time. During the period of Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, divination gained popularity. Along with the activities about the divination for building the cities, divination consequently built a foundation for Fengshui thought in the later times. In Qin and Han dynasties, the academic books about Fengshui and geography appeared. Moreover, during Han dynasty, funeral conventions began to receive attention under the influence of Confucianism thought, such as etiquette and filial piety, and superstitious belief in gods and ghosts. Therefore, the trend of holding elaborate funerals appeared. During Wei, Jin and North-South dynasties, warlocks began to appear and Guo Pu in Jin dynasty redefined the term “Fengshui”, laying the foundation of the development of Fengshui thought in the later time. In Tang and Song dynasty, the Fengshui theory from the previous dynasty was adopted and the different factions of the Intuitive School were formed. The theory smacking of superstition includes emphasizing the choice and the position of graveyards, and its surrounding mountain and stream. “Snow Heart Rhapsody” is a parallel prose with splendid words and sentences in order, which imply many Intuitive Schools of Fengshui thought theory. This article is meant to discuss the four dimensions of dragon, cave, sand, water and to research the ideas and principles of Intuitive School, Fengshui, and how to get good or bad luck.
