In this study, the tethered balloon radiosonde system with tethersonde and ozone sonde was used to measure the mixing layer height and ozone concentration distribution in southern and central Taiwan including beach area, oceanfront area and two different land areas. The content included the variation of mixing layer height and ozone concentration distribution during the mixed layer in different areas. Besides, the transport characteristics of ozone concentration distribution were also analyzed under different areas. The results show that the satisfactory meteorological parameters (such as high temperature, low humidity) are not the most important factors for the development of mixing layer. And the factors of topography and environment are more important in Taiwan. It’s obvious that sea breeze affects the sea region and land area in southern Taiwan, and the land area in central Taiwan excluded. Sunshine intensity, temperature, humidity parameters impact the development of the mixing layer height and the impact order of the sea area is classified into "the fifth", beach area is "the fourth", oceanfront area is "the third", southern land area is "the second" and the central land area is "the first". And the pollutants transport evaluates the good level in two land areas. So, the air quality in land areas may be better than the other sea regions under the mixing layer characteristics in Taiwan. Besides, the pollutant concentration in mixed layer is influenced by sea breeze reflux in southern Taiwan.
