Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 體育學系碩士在職專班 === 103 === Research on motivations and social support of soccer participants in elementary school—sampling from elementary students of Xinzhuang District Graduate Institute of Physical Education, Fu Jen Catholic University Graduate student: Chen, Han-Hu  Adviser: Chen, Tai-Cheng, Ph.D. Abstract   This research focus on understanding the current status of elementary school soccer participant’s motivation and social support, furthermore, analyze the difference on motivation and social support from different background variables and last discuss the correlation between motivation and social support. Questionnaire method has been applied on this research, self-designed “Motivation and social support scale of elementary school soccer participants in Xinzhuang District “has also been utilized as research tool. Research objects refer to soccer participants of Xinzhuang District elementary school. Data processing goes through Descriptive Statistics, Factor analysis, Reliability analysis, Independent-Sample T Test, Single factor variables analysis, Scheffé Method and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient analysis using SPSS for Windows 17.0 Chinese version package software. Analysis result shows: 1. On motivation factor perspective of Xinzhuang District elementary school soccer participants, the score from high to low: “Health demand”, “Achievement demand”, “Social demand”; on social support factor, the score sequence from high to low: “Coach support”, “Family support”, “Peer support” and “Teacher support”. On gender allocation, “male” stands the major part; on grade allocation, “lower grades” stands the major portion; on years of participant, “more than one year ~less than two years “stands the most; on weekly practice hours, the highest percentage stands for “2~4 hours”. 2. There are significant differences between participants own different background variables on motivation factor perspective (grades, years of participant and weekly practice hours). The combination of lowest motivation includes 5~6 grade, lower than one year participant and more than 4 hours weekly practice time. 3. There are significant differences between participants own different background variables on social support factor perspective (grade and weekly practice hours). The highest social support combination comes from 1~2 grade and 1~2 weekly practice hours. 4. Positive correlation reached on the motivation and social support of Xinzhuang District elementary school soccer participants. Keywords: Soccer, participant, motivation, social support Total pages: 96
