The participants of research were mothers and young children from 24 - 48 months old in the preschools and daycare centers. The instruments included emotion regulation checklist assessed by young children’s teachers, and the attachment Q sort sorted by young children’s mothers. There were 88 valid responses collected. The data collected were analyzed by descriptive statistics, reliability analyses, t-tests, Pearson correlation and multiple regressions. The main results were as followed:1.The average value of attachment coefficient was .31 (SD=.17), total range from -.19 to .64. The cutting point to distinguish between secure and insecure attachment coefficient was .24. The average value of attachment coefficient was .40 for the group of secure attachment, and .12 for the group of insecure attachment. 2.For emotional regulation of young children, the score for positive emotion regulation was between "often" and "always", and the score for negative / unstable emotion regulation was between "little / no" and "sometimes". It showed that young children tended to exhibit positive emotion regulation, and less negative / unstable emotion regulation.3. The result showed that boys and girls have no difference in the score of positive emotion regulation. But boy’s scores were higher than girl’s in negative / unstable emotion regulation. Moreover, mother's occupation resulted in the significant differences in young children’s positive and negative / unstable emotion regulation.4.Young children in the secure attachment group were rated significantly higher in the score of positive / stable emotion regulation score, but significantly lower in the score of negative / unstable emotion regulation than those in the insecure attachment group.5. The regression analyses showed that the mother’s occupation and mother-child attachment have significantly and positively predictive to children’s positive emotion regulation, explaining the total amount of 14% variance. In addition, the mother’s occupation and mother-child attachment also have negatively predictive to children’s negative / unstable emotion regulation, explaining the total amount of 13% variance.Implication and application were provided to the mothers, teachers and related practitioners. The directions for future research were also proposed. Ruo-Lin Chen 陳若琳 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 101 zh-TW
