Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 社會工作學系碩士班 === 103 === The situation of CPS is highly tension, huge number of cases, and the gender of CPS worker is imbalance today. The experience of male CPS is rare, so that this study try to collect the core values, practical experience, and some personal process. First, the experience is about working in the gender inequality situation. Second, the way which to cope with the gender limitation. Third, the strength of male CPS worker who is in practical. To provide partners who work in CPS and work in CPS in the future, this study can identify or want to enter CPS, even let everyone to find out male CPS workers, and offer the answer about imaginations of male CPS workers.
In this study, interviewing six different seniority who engaged in child protection work male social workers in northern Taiwan Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention Centre. Using qualitative research and in-depth interviews collect their practical experience, discussed and analyzed to obtain the following conclusions.
The strength of male CPS workers:
1、Male CPS workers could use the strengh of gender identity and the growth process of men. Moreover, can supply a different perspectives of thought patterns of women.
2、Providing an appropriate role model for client.
3、Using the gender strengths in Taiwan professional field.
4、There are more chance or opportunities to promotion and to other program.
The limitation of male CPS workers:
1、The transference issue between female clients and male CPS worker.
2、The Restrictions of the sexual issue.
3、Male CPS workers can’t experience the life course of women.
The characteristic of male CPS workers:
1、Keep the attitude flexible in every situation.
2、Family is the primary consideration.
3、The different view because of the experience in CPS practice -dot and vertical.
The characteristic of CPS:
1、The practical experience and the professional skill are effect the treatment .
2、Male CPS worker still need to be careful the safety issue.
3、Huge cases and the inflexible, ambiguous administrative procedures.
The gender of CPS worker is still unbalanced today. Suggesting male CPS workers should use the strength to development more self-worth. With continuous learning, it can help male CPS workers overcome limitation, promote self-knowledge and ability and professional skills. In order to face variety issues, we hope not only to talk about female and male, but also the viewpoint of transgender and multicultural. The most important is that advocate the rights of CPS workers by CPS own. It is the way that we can stop the brain-drain and more partners join CPS.
