We found that can synthesize 9,9'-bifluorenylidene derivative 60 which structure contains two substituents of methyl group and extended benzene rings. Many studies have been reported that 9,9'-bifluorenylidene derivatives are one kind of the materials can help to promote the power conversion efficiency of organic solar cells. In this study, we try to improve the yield of compound 60 and use another synthetic route to synthesize 9,9'-bifluorenylidene derivative 64 which structure only contains extended benzene rings. In the synthesis of the starting materials 54, we found [2+2+1] cycloaddition product 78, [2+2+2+1] cycloaddition product 76 and [2+2] cycloaddition product 77.
