P3HT/PCBM film exhibits enhanced power conversion efficiency upon appropriate thermal treatment. Unfortunately, phase separation occurs between P3HT and PCBM during the thermal treatment and ends up with and large PCBM agglomerates. In this study, a PCBM analogue, 1-hexyloxy-[6,6]-phenyl-C61-methane (p-HOCPM), is synthesized to minimize aggregation of PCBM upon thermal treatment. p-HOCPM acts as impurity of PCBM and expects to lower the crystallization of PCBM during the thermal treatment. Optical microscopy study indicates that the aggregation of PCBM in P3HT/PCBM film does lessen after adding p-HOCPM to the P3HT/PCBM blend. p-HOCPM interacts with PCBM and retards the aggregation PCBM during the thermal treatment. However, crystallization of P3HT seems to be affected also with p-HOCPM in the P3HT/PCBM film. DSC and X-ray studies show that the long side chain from the p-HOCPM interacts with P3HT and leads to decreased P3HT crystallization. Huang, Ping-Tsung 黃炳綜 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 100 zh-TW
