Living with chronic tension and stress may cause physical problems. Nowadays, most workplaces offer two rest days each week, so during their spare time, people seek out leisure activities, which have become a part of modern people’s life. Tea drinking is a popular activity in Taiwanese daily life. Since leisure can help adjust body and mind and relieve stress, this research would like to explore the positive meanings and functions of the participation in tea culture leisure activities. The research uses qualitative research method, an in-depth interview, to observe ten people of different fields. The interviewees include a tea ceremony teacher from Wu-wo Tea, tea master from Chinese Tea Culture Association, tea storeowner, biotech company owner, technology manager, members of tea ceremony leisure activity clubs, and tea drinkers who are very fond of tea. The research discovered that participation in tea culture leisure activities helps improve personal, physical, and mental health; social skills and knowledge; and increases the affection, communication, and interaction between members of the family. Moreover, physically, it helps relax body and mind, release stress, and promote a healthy body and mind; psychologically, it helps relax the mind, encourages a balanced life, promotes a healthy mind, and brings great benefits to family harmony. The research concludes that experiencing the tea culture leisure activities helps adjust body and mind, relieve pressure, bring inner peace into life, cultivate the mind, uplift mood, and promote life quality.
