Its sightseeing output value is extremely huge.The Taiwan mountain stands in great numbers, has extremely potential development in the adventure tourism. The adventure tourism development in Taiwan has just started, Alpine adventure tour will be the future trend. Mountain climbers involvement will be the most important issue in the adventure tourism industry. The research objects are the climbers, this study was to investigate the relationships among hardiness, perceived risk, hiking experience, leisure satisfaction, and enduring involvement of mountain hiking.Data were collected by paper-and-pencil questionnaires and internet computerized puestionnaires. The effective respondents were 315.
Our main findings of the study were as follow:The personality hardiness, perceived risk, hiking experience, and leisure satisfaction of mountain climber were significantly related to their enduring involvement.The personality hardiness and leisure satisfaction could be the predictors of mountain climber’s enduring involvement, but perceived risk and hiking experience couldn’t.There were significant differences in enduring involvement among members of different backgrounds – sex and monthly income.There were significant differences in enduring involvement among members of different behavior involvement.
Based on our findings, some suggestions were provided for the authorities related and the future researchers in the relative field.
