Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 教育專業發展研究所 === 103 === This research aims to differentiate respective varieties of family cultural capital and English learning attitude for fifth and sixth grade students in Yunlin County, Taiwan, and to explore their correlation by using the mechanism of canonical correlation analysis. In stratified sampling, 620 observations are drawn from fifth and sixth grade in elementary school in Yunlin County, where 604 questionnaires are filled and returned as valid samples. In this study, the main instruments of collecting quantitative data are Family Cultural Capital Scale and English Learning Attitude Scale. The main results of this thesis are as follows:
1. The upper primary students of different gender significantly differ in their family cultural capital. Girls are significantly more likely to have better learning habits than boys.
2. There is an interaction between two variables, namely primary caregiver’s educational background and student gender, in English learning attitude.
3. There is an interaction between two variables, namely student gender and student family structure, in English learning attitude.
4. In the upper primary grades, the set of family cultural resources, learning habits,and family educational resources is highly correlated with the set of English learning cognition, English learning affection and English learning behavior in the sense of canonical correlation. In particular, there is the highest intercorrelation between learning habits and English learning affection.
