Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 資訊工程學系碩士班 === 103 === At Da-Yeh University, most department websites are designed and built by students, teachers or vendors. Since their development tools and server platforms are quite different, the ways of user interaction and system management usually lack consistency. The website maintenance will become quite challenging if students graduate or contracts expires. Even though several open-source content management systems are available for quick website construction, it requires quite a long learning curve and therefore not suitable for departments at a university.
In this thesis, we propose a novel approach to website construction to solve the above problems. Its basic idea is to have a computer specialist using a content management system to create a website framework, providing fundamental user interfaces and basic functionality. And then, for those frequently updated contents, several message management systems can be embedded into the webpage. These message managements systems are designed for computer non-specialists. Therefore, the staff can easily maintain their websites, which still look professional, stylish and have a great integration with other existing campus systems. Besides, such websites can be upgraded at almost no cost whenever new features of message management systems are provided.
